    • Dentistry
    • Complex Surgeries such as orthopedic repairs of bone fractures
  • Anesthesia--  To ensure anesthesia is as safe as possible, we do require a pre-anesthetic exam, pre-anesthetic blood chemistry tests to evaluate major body systems and intravenous catheterization.  Trained technical staff members monitor each patient while sedated by using electronic equipment to monitor heart rate, blood oxygenation, respiratory rate, and ECG during every procedure.
  • X-Ray Services are available on site.  Ultrasound services are available with a board-certified veterinary radiologist.
  • Emergency Services are available during normal business hours.  For urgent after hour care, we refer clients to an emergency after hours clinic. (See Hours for more details.)
  • Hospitalization-- Our facility allows for Heartwood to house comfortably both cats and dogs in a closely monitored unit.  Critical patients are kept in a close observation unit within our daily treatment area until they are well enough for transfer to the main wards. Contagious patients are isolated in a special room where we take extra precautions to keep the hospital clean.

Families are always welcome to visit any hospitalized pet.  We feel that anyone who needs to stay in the hospital deserves the extra TLC that only their family can provide.

  • Laboratory-- Heartwood is able to provide its patients with full blood chemistries and blood counts in house.  For more complex cases, an outside laboratory may be used; this will provide a more complete chemistry that has been reviewed by a pathologist.
